Sandyford Business District has appointed Dr Aodhan Newsholme as a consultant and advisor to the district on the circular economy.
Dr Newsholme is a current lecturer in circular economy at Munster Technological University, part of Ireland’s Knowledge Centre for Carbon, Climate and Community Action (IKC3).
Dr Newsholme was described as bringing “a wealth of academic and industry experience to the role, which will strengthen the district’s capacity to develop and deliver innovative, sustainability-led initiatives and provide guidance on the adaptation of circular-economy initiatives.”
Joining on a voluntary basis, Dr Newsholme has extensive expertise in global supply chain management and applied research.
He will play a key role in supporting the integration of circular economy principles across the district, including flagship initiatives like the Circular-PSP project.

The DBS said his guidance will help shape the district’s transition towards more sustainable practices, with a strong focus on reducing carbon emissions, enhancing biodiversity, and minimising environmental impact.
Dr Newsholme’s strategic input will support Sandyford Business District in becoming a national leader in sustainable urban and commercial development, they said in a statement.
