Katherine Beirne
Associate Director
Katherine is a public affairs and strategic communications professional with experience supporting organisations across EU, EEA and Irish policy environments. She has worked across a broad range of public policy issues, including digitalisation, financial regulation, environmental sustainability, public health, occupational safety and health, human rights, financial regulation, consumer protection, and heritage amongst others.
Katherine specialises in translating complex policy and legislative issues into clear, accessible communications that support stakeholder engagement, advocacy and informed decision-making. Her work has included developing policy briefings, reports, campaign strategies and communications for European institutions, governments, NGOs and public bodies, while coordinating projects involving policymakers, institutional partners and civil society organisations across Europe.
She has contributed to a number of high-profile initiatives, including communications strategies and stakeholder engagement programmes for major EU-wide campaigns, and has delivered training and workshops for organisations across Europe to strengthen strategic communications and public engagement. Her work has also supported policy development in Ireland, including research and stakeholder engagement that informed proposals on access to free contraception.
Alongside her public affairs career, Katherine has extensive media experience, having built a following across digital platforms, recognised through industry award nominations and regular appearances across television, radio and print media. This background provides her with a strong understanding of both the digital and media landscapes and audience engagement, complementing her policy and strategic communications expertise.
