The Coach Tourism and Transport Council of Ireland (CTTC), has elected David Conway, CEO of Flight Link, as its new Chair.

The CTTC is Ireland’s leading representative body for commercial bus and coach operators.

They say their chief aims include pushing for reduced transport fares for passengers as well as funding support for the deployment of alternatively fueled vehicles.

The appointment of Mr Conway was made at the CTTC’s AGM in Foynes Flying Boat Museum, Co. Limerick on March 7th.

Mr. Conway is the founder and CEO of Limerick-based commercial bus company, Flight Link, which offers bus services from locations across Clare, Limerick and Kerry to Dublin Airport.

He has served as vice-Chair of the CTTC from 2023-2025 and, in his new role as Chair, succeeds William Martin of Martin’s Coaches in Limerick, whose term came to an end after two years in the role.

The organisation’s AGM featured a guest address from a member of the European Parliament’s Transport Committee, Cynthia Ni Mhurchu MEP, with the leader of Independent Ireland, Michael Collins TD and Mayor of Limerick, John Moran also in attendance.

Speaking following the AGM, Conway said: “It is an honour to be elected chair of the CTTC and to have the opportunity to lead this group of vitally important representatives of the commercial bus and coach sector in Ireland.

“Our members provide strategic transport connectivity across the country and our contribution to our national carbon emission reduction targets cannot be underestimated.

“As plans for decarbonising the transport sector in Ireland and across the EU are underway, making the voice of the commercial bus sector heard is crucial from a tourism and transport perspective.

“The CTTC has consistently made the case for our operators to be supported, and, under my leadership, it will continue to do so.

“I want to thank William Martin for his dedicated and successful leadership over the past two years.”
